アジア－パシフィックリモートセンシング会議は、地球環境観測に関する衛星・航空機・地上等からのリモートセンシングについて、世界各国の政府機関、大学、企業の科学者、技術者がアジア－太平洋地域で一堂に会し、討論・意見交換を通して地球環境、気象、陸域、海洋等の研究や電磁波計測、宇宙利用、土木、資源探査、災害計測技術等の技術開発の進展に寄与し、環境問題の解決に貢献することを目的として開催されます。2012年10月29日京都で開催予定の第8回目の会議では、前回に引き続きPlenaryセッションと7つのコンファレンスが開かれます。詳細は本会議の英語Web site（http://spie.org/ae/）をご欄下さい。
