     Regarding the data validity question --  As I recall, in Birmingham we 
discussed an optional separate connector with high-resolution  validity 
information for those system that need it.  We decided to keep the single 
validity bit in the 50-pin data connector, as well, as a 'global validity' 
indicator.  Does this agree with your recollection.
     I am finally beginning to edit the draft document after spending most 
of the last few days just catching up from my absence, so I hope to send 
you an updated copy within the next few days.
