Aspirations
To accomplish an ICT society which is more convenient, kind to people,
and creative, we conduct research on natural 3D image and sound technologies
based on the electronic holography, as well as ultra realistic communication
systems for which human's perception process and cognitive mechanism including
tactile and smell senses are applied.
Career
April 1971: Joined NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation).
(Engaged in research of digital image processing etc.)
June 2004: Appointed to a Director-General of Science & Techical Research
Laboratories of NHK.
September 2006: Joined National Institute of Information and Communications
Technology.
October 2006: Appointed to an Executive Director of Universal Media Research
Center of National Institute of Information and Communications Technology.
Doctor of Engineering.
Fellow of the IEEE.
Cooperate Member of the Science Council of Japan.
Vice-president of the Institute of Image Information and Television Engineers, Japan.
