The Language Infrastructure Group (LIG) develops natural communication technology, and comprises two separate projects; the language resource project and the language grid project. The language resource project aims to bridge the digital divide caused by language barriers by providing large scale language resources that form the basis of speech/language processing technologies and their applications. The language grid project aims to combine these various technologies and provide them as an integrated Web service. Our mission is to produce results that visibly contribute to society.
