| Abstract | He discusses the behavior of the electron-LO-phonon coupled modes in GaAs / AlGaAs hetero-structures based on the results of resonant-optical-scattering measurements and the reflective electro-optic sampling measurements by Yee et al. The coupled modes have the both characteristics of electrons and phonons. Discussion is made in terms of the generation mechanisms, and it is shown that the spectrum depends whether the origin of the excitation of the modes is in the carriers or phonons. |
