Lecturer "Spherical hollow magnets; a material filling the gap of bulk and molecular magnetism"
Speaker Prof.Kunio Agawa
(Nagoya University)
Abstract There has been extensive study on molecular magnetism in the recent years, and controllable properties of the molecular magnets have been recognized as a characteristic aspect of these materials. However their ferromagnetic transition temperatures are usually low, so that it is hard to realize their application. It is now important to develop materials filling the gap between bulk and molecular magnetism for controllable magnetic properties at high temperatures. In this presentation we review the research history of molecular magnetism and describe our recent work on spherical hollow nanomagnets.
