---Giant magnetoresistance effect in molecular conductors---
Speaker Dr. Masaki Matsuda ,
Associate Professor, Graduate School of Science and Technology, Kumamoto University
Abstract Molecular conductors have been strenuously studied by many chemists and physicists from a view point of the basic science. Taking into account the fact that the similar component molecules are used in practical applications such as organic light emitting diodes and organic photovoltaic cells, the study about molecular conductors should be more important in the near feature. In my talk, I will introduce the conventional concept for constructing molecular conductors and a magnetoresistance effect observed in them. Futhermore, I will introduce my recent study about a new system based on metal complexes. Using metal complexes, I have succeeded in constructing molecular conductors showing the giant negative magnetoresistance.
