The Co-occurrence Dictionary
The Co-occurrence Dictionary is a set of co-occurrence dictionary records (Figure 2.5), each consisting of entry information, and co-occurrence constituent, syntactic, and semantic information.
The entry information consists of a head-phrase and its co-occurrence situation.
The head-phrase describes a combination of word notations and co-occurrence relation labels.
In the Japanese Co-occurrence Dictionary, the word notation is the invariable portion of the word, and is the stem for the English Co-occurrence Dictionary.
The co-occurrence situation describes the situation in which the co-occurrence pair appeared in terms of frequency, example sentences, etc.
The co-occurrence constituent information provides the information on each constituent of the co-occurrence relation in terms of morpheme, kana notation (for the English Co-occurrence Dictionary, stem form), part of speech, headconcept, etc.
The syntactic information describes the surface-level co-occurrence information, which gives a tuple expressing the co-occurrence relation on the surface level.
The semantic information describes concept co-occurrence information, and tuples expressing relations between co-occurring concepts are described.
