Differential Charge Integrating Detector Array
for Feeble Light Spectroscopy in the Near-Infrared

Abstract

A low noise 8-channel array detector for the 1-2 μm near infrared region is developed. The minimum detectable power of 10-14 W at 1.28 μm was achieved in all channels by using an InGaAs PIN photodiode with a charge integrating amplifier operated at 77K. In the near-infrared region, this is the first practical multi-channel detector for low level light spectroscopy.
