イオン液体の光学応用について紹介する。特にイオン液体の特徴である難揮発性を利用した真空下や様々な周囲ガス環境下における屈折率マッチング媒体としての利用について述べる。イオン液体の光学応用としてはパッシブではあるが，それゆえに広範な応用が期待できる。イオン液体の様々な光学応用に対して必要とされる物性について述べるとともに，真空下の単一分子分光へのイオン液体の応用の具体例について紹介する。また真空下の様々な光学計測へのイオン液体の応用の可能性について述べる。

　After a brief introduction of optical applications of ionic liquids, we report our new microscope unit with an immersion objective and ionic liquid as a non-volatile refractive index medium. In this paper, we describe the applications of the new microscope unit to single molecule spectroscopy and single molecule imaging under high vacuum and ambient gas condition. Finally, we describe a wide range of applications of our new microscope unit for various kinds of microscopy measurements.
