世界の異なるＶＬＢＩ観測システム間でデータの互換性を実現させる国際インターフェース規格を開発・制定し、ＶＬＢＩ観測精度の向上に寄与するとともに、将来の天文学等における電波精密計測技術の発展に貢献するなど、新しい電波利用技術の向上に大きく貢献をした。
