The Simeiz geodynamical observatory, located at the southern sea-shore of the Crimean peninsula, is considered like a potential reference point of the global network, where tracking facilities of several research institutes are combined at the territory of approx. 2 sq. km with different relief. There are the SLR station N 1873 with an improved second generation laser of CRIMEA type, installed along the mountain side (h-300 m), reference benchmark of the mobile MTLRS- 1 (N-7561), 2 fiducial GPS points, the 22-m radio antenna with the Mark-3 system for the geodetical VLBI and the SLR system at the Katsiveli site N 1893. All these points are connected with the precise levelling and geodetic measurements. Besides satellite laser ranging the regular astrometrical observations with a Danjohn astrolab and time to time gravity measurements are carried on at the Simeiz (1873) laser site. A comparative analysis of the satellite geodesy results and local geodetic measurements has been made and is discussed in this paper.
