Abstract We fabricate a thin film having molecular recognition on a semiconductor surface and develop a bio-sensor technology to detect specfic adsorption of biomolecules and cell by using IR spectroscopy. Biomolecules and cells have characteristic functions in solution. Our method, multi-internal reflection method (MIR-IRAS), enables in-situ observation of adsorption of the bio-materials. In this seminar, we introduce characteristics of MIR-IRAS and application of this method to DNA sensor.
