Abstract | Membrane proteins including ion channels and GPCR are very important materials for creation of new medicines in post-genom. However, basic and applied researches for biosensors and bio-tips have not been studied sufficiently. In the case of membrane proteins, they show their functions only in a lipid bi-layer. Their generation, purification, and reconstruction processes are still risky subject in basic research. On the other hand, this subject becomes one of the hot topics as a supportedmembrane in Europe and USA. In our group, we had began to study forming membrane/lipid bilayer accumulated structure and have recently succeeded to form a tethered supported membrane and to reconstruct porin in lipid bi-layer. I will review the progress of basic techniques for fabrication of biosensor in Japan, Europe, and USA. |
