Date&Time | 5 November 2013 (Tue) 13:30 - 15:00 |
Place | Conference Room, 2F, Research Building 1, Advanced ICT Research Institute |
Lecturer | Applications of adaptive optics: From the Subaru telescope to a microscope |
Speaker | Dr. Masayuki Hattori, (NIBB fellow, Spectrography and Bioimaging Facility,National Institute for Basic Biology:transferred from Adaptive Optics group of Hawaii Observatory) Dr. Yosuke Tamada, (Assistant Professor, Division of Evolutionary Biology,National Institute for Basic Biology) |
Abstract | Adaptive optics is a powerful tool in astronomy to significantly improve the resolution obtainable in telescope by compensating the turbulence of the atmosphere. The speakers will talk about new applications of this state-of-the-art technology to light microscope for compensating optical turbulence in the cells. |
