■Objectives

The 4th international joint workshop will be held in Osaka, Japan from 27-29 August, 2014. The three-day workshop will build on past workshops held in the USA (March and November 2013) and Japan (October 2012).  Scientists and researchers from Japan, the USA, and Europe will present and discuss cutting-edge research in the field of Cyber-Physical Cloud Computing (CPCC) systems, which was founded by the MOU between NICT and NIST on CPCC R&D since 2012. This workshop is a biannual face-to-face meeting based on subsequent weekly teleconferences between the joint research members.

The vision of CPCC is summarized in: ‘A Vision of Cyber-Physical Cloud Computing for Smart Netwroked System’’. This workshop will focus on the following topics (but not limited to): research issues in creating and managing large-scale CPCC systems; service capability description; human and social aspects of cyber-physical systems; management of massively-heterogeneous sensor data; smart social healthcare & disaster response for air quality problem; complex event detection of air quality  effects; scalability issues in complex event processing; actuator, data, processor services; big data analytics; participatory sensing.
