Exchange of Views on Generative AI Trends with Fujitsu Limited
On September 25, Dr. HARAYAMA Yuko, Secretary General of the GPAI Tokyo Expert Support Center (Tokyo ESC) visited Fujitsu Limited (Dr. OKAMOTO Seishi, Corporate Executive Officer, Executive Vice President, Head of Fujitsu Research, Fujitsu Limited) and exchanged information with Mr. SONODA Toshihiro, Head of Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Fujitsu Research, Fujitsu Limited and Principal Researcher Mr. NAKAO Yuri, also a member of the Study Group focusing on AI regulatory frameworks in the Cabinet Office and other representatives.
Mr. Sonoda explained that they are addressing the challenges of handling diverse and large volumes of data held by companies, generating models specialized in business know-how and processes, and compliance issues within companies through Knowledge Graph Extended RAG, generative AI hybrid technologies, and generative AI trust.

Secretary General Harayama shared insights on the development of technologies to manage the challenges posed by generative AI, focusing on development standards, goals for corporate use of generative AI, and strategies for collaboration between the public and private sectors. She also highlighted the Tokyo ESC's upcoming initiatives, including the promotion of the SAFE Project, the transition to the GPAI 2.0 framework based on an integrated partnership with the OECD, and preparations for the Tokyo Innovation Workshop to be held next spring.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue sharing information and collaborating to promote Japan's efforts at international conferences such as the OECD and GPAI Summits.
