    Exchange of Views on Future Collaboration with the Osaka University Research Center on Ethical, Legal and Social Issues

    On October 3, Dr. HARAYAMA Yuko, Secretary General of the GPAI Tokyo Expert Support Center (Tokyo ESC) visited the Osaka University Research Center on Ethical, Legal and Social Issues (commonly known as the ELSI Center, Director: Professor KISHIMOTO Atsuo).

    After Director Kishimoto and Secretary General Harayama exchanged greetings, Mr. SHIBAZAKI Tetsuya, Executive Director of the Tokyo ESC Secretariat introduced upcoming activities, including the SAFE Project and the Tokyo Innovation Workshop. Director Kishimoto also presented the ELSI Center’s research and educational activities related to ethical, legal, and social issues (ELSI) that arise when utilizing various types of data in cyberspace.

    Additionally, Dr. KUDO Fumiko, Specially Appointed Associate Professor at the ELSI Center, also a member of the Study Group focusing on AI regulatory frameworks in the Cabinet Office, and Secretary General Harayama discussed the legal aspects of AI systems and exchanged views on future collaboration between the ELSI Center and the Tokyo ESC.
