Discussion with Director of the Directorate for Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI), OECD

On January 24, Mr. Jerry Sheehan, Director of the Directorate for Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI), OECD and responsible for GPAI, visited NICT (Nihonbashi, Tokyo) and exchanged information with Dr. HARAYAMA Yuko, Secretary General of the GPAI Tokyo Expert Support Center.

Director Sheehan shared his views on the GPAI 2.0 framework, noting that although only six months have passed since the integration of GPAI with the OECD, it will be a great opportunity by continuing to do high-quality and interesting work that can provide valuable information not only to its member countries but also to a broader global audience.

Dr. Harayama introduced the activities of the Tokyo ESC and reaffirmed the Center’s commitment to actively advancing SAFE-related initiatives in close collaboration with the OECD. She also requested Mr. Sheehan to support the upcoming Tokyo Innovation Workshop1, scheduled for the end of next May.
