Dr. HARAYAMA Yuko Receives MIC Minister’s Award for Information and Communications Promotion Month (FY2025)

Dr. HARAYAMA Yuko, Secretary General of the GPAI Tokyo Expert Support Center, has been awarded the MIC Minister’s Award for Information and Communications Promotion Month (FY2025). She was recognized for her significant contributions to enhancing Japan’s international presence, including her leadership as the inaugural Secretary General since the Center’s launch in July 2024, and her active participation in global discussions such as UNESCO's AI Ethics Principles and the Council of Europe’s AI Convention.

Ms. Audrey Plonk, Deputy Director of the OECD Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation, was also honored with the same award for her contributions to the development of international AI governance frameworks and the strengthening of cooperation between Japan and the OECD.
