    Report on the Tokyo Centre’s Participation in the GPAI Plenary Meeting

    From June 9 to 11, 2026, the 5th GPAI Plenary meeting, associated workshops and Meetings of the GPAI Expert Community were held at the OECD in Paris, France. Dr. HARAYAMA Yuko, Secretary General of the Tokyo Centre of the GPAI Expert Community, participated in the meeting. The Plenary brought together government representatives from member countries and related organizations, including Centres of the GPAI Expert Community, where progress reports on projects based on the 2025-2026 Workplan were presented, and discussions were held on future activities.

    Dr. Harayama reported the results of case study analysis compiling interview findings from companies and other organizations in various countries, as part of the agenda item on the Agentic AI project being carried out in collaboration with the OECD Secretariat. She also presented, together with the Directors of the other 2 centres (Paris and Montreal), the implementation results of projects conducted by all 3 centres, under the agenda item on GPAI-associated projects.

    At the Meetings of the GPAI Expert Community on the 11th, Dr. Merve Hickok, Invited Advisor of the Tokyo Centre, presented the research findings of the Agentic AI project in collaboration with the OECD Secretariat.
