Wireless Emulator

For real-time demonstration of wireless systems in virtual space

In the Beyond 5G era, more devices such as drones and IoT-related devices will be widely used and wireless communications will play a more important role as a social infrastructure technology than ever. On the other hand, existing problems such as frequency resource shortage and degradation of spectrum efficiency due to mutual interference will become more serious, so research and development to solve these problems are being actively carried out on a global scale.

In the verification of these problems, wireless emulator and its related technologies have been attracting a lot of attention. The wireless emulator can be applied for various evaluations by constructing an actual environment in a virtual space and simulating real world radio wave propagation properties with a high degree of accuracy.

In large-scale system verification, for instance, the conventional method calls for the deployment of the required number of radio devices to the actual field to perform actual measurements. However, by using the wireless emulator, verification can be performed over a short period of time and at low cost.
