Wireless emulator to demonstrate wireless systems in a real-time virtual

In the beyond 5G era, wireless communications will expand into various fields and play an important role as a social infrastructure technology. On the other hand, it is predicted that existing problems, such as spectrum resource shortage due to congested use of radio waves, will become more serious, and research and development to solve these problems are being actively carried out worldwide. For verifying these issues, the wireless emulator can be applied for various evaluations related to wireless communication by constructing a virtual environment in a virtual space and imitating radio wave propagation characteristics in a real environment.

Technical Description

To solve various technical issues faced by increasingly advanced and complex wireless networks for Beyond 5G (B5G)/6G, NICT is developing a large-scale verification testbed to evaluate the behavior of radio waves and the usefulness of communication systems in a virtual space.
